Budget 2025-26- Massive Development Step towards Inclusive Growth in Balochistan

Financial year 2025-26 budget of the Province, Balochistan is an outlook of care for the benefit of the people of the Province. Estimated expenditures of Rs. 896.97 billion, with PKR Rs. 666.83 billion allocated for the non-development (Current) expenses and Rs. 279.66 billion earnmarked for development Projects. It brings a significant change in the development sector as well as health, education, and infrastructure.

Expenditures in Education;

Development in education sector has already been raised to a positive extent with great provisions being made in infrastructure as well as human resource. A new PhD scholarship program has been launched to facilitate advance studies for scholars, and, in addition, a project has been initiated to provide free education up to grade 16, including for the children of martyrs. More than 9,900 teaching vacancies are being advertised and new positions are being created to re-open the non-functional schools Balochistan.

Reform in Health and Education:

  • The health sector has received a notable increase in both development and non-development projects.
  • New hospitals and specialised health care units are being planned including a liver transplant hospital and expansions to the hospitals in Gwadar and other districts.
  • Hundreds of new health positions are being created to improve medical facilities throughout Balochistan. These steps of government are being welcomed by masses and seen as a major effort to attain educational objectives and to raise health care in the province. The public friendly budget of the year 2025-26 will ultimately pave the way for inclusive growth and development of the province.

Investment in Infrastructure and Connectivity:

  • Significant allocations have been made for roads like the Quetta-Karachi Highway, Hoshab , Awaran highway, dual carriageway, including other strategic routes like corridors to Afghanistan and other neighbouring Countries.
  • The Federal PSDP has also contributed funds for Balochistan, covering numerous projects across the province.

Good Governance and Local Development:

Local Government funding has been increased more than two folds, investments in municipal and district level institutions to cope with grass route issues. The budget is focused on the wise targeted development as it is aimed at realization of the minimal and promising projects.

Public friendly and Direct relief for govt servants:

Through the Balochistan FY 2025-26 budget, employees in the government (Grades 1 to 22) have experienced a salary increment of 10 percent, pension payments (retirees) to be raised by 7 percent, and a 20 percent disparity adjustment allowance for (Grades 1 to 16) have been approved. No change has been reported to a contributory pension scheme applied to new hires by the government.

Combating Climate Change;

A new green fund on Balochistan to the tune of Rs 10 billion has been launched to handle the disaster preparedness, flood protection, and better drainage system.

Outcome;

A positive gesture of transformation this budget is a positive gesture being more effective, people-centric budget. Income relief better local government system and increased investment in education, health, Infrastructure and climate change will mean that Balochistn is about to tackle a massive step forward.
